Brook Construction completed their works on the Valentine Gold project for Calibre Mining. Impressively, the project comprised approximately 13000m3 of concrete placement and 78.5 metric tonnes of anchor bolts and other cast-in items as well as earthworks, fused pipelines, structural grouting, and electrical grounding.
The Brook Construction Team embodies the best in what is required to create significant structures and infrastructure. They are established, organized, resourced and relentless, all of which are essential for success in such and undertaking. Their Ownership and Managers exemplify professionalism, amicability, and moderation. Their crews and site leadership go above and beyond to ensure our goals were achieved and more importantly what is right for us. We were impressed with the ownership and pride taken by this team with “their Nissan” and “their building”. No detail was too small, no request too outrageous for this group of builders who partnered with us to build something important to the community and its people.

Brook Construction has been instrumental in the success of the Fairway Honda dealership being build in Corner Brook, Newfoundland for us. I had the fortunate pleasure of working with Brook Construction on the New 4-5 School in Gander, a 55,000 sq ft. facility, and approximately 16 million dollar contract. If this was a race, Brook started with a sprint and kept it up for the entire project, while continuously showing perseverance, professionalism, and complete commitment to the project.
I believe the key to Brook’s success if their collaborative teamwork approach. It is clear this approach starts with their office management staff and extends to their field staff, sub-contractors, suppliers, owner’s representatives, design consultants and all other involved parties. Brook has also embraced technology and the use of software such as Procore which aids in the sharing of information and effective coordination of work.
The Project was not without its challenges, but Brook always took the approach of working with all parties to identify issues early on and being part of the solution, even when these issues were not necessarily their problems to solve. This method allowed Brook and the project team to complete the project in a 17 month period, from the time of the first breaking ground to when the building was first occupied.
